Skin concerns look different for everyone — ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation, sensitivity, stubborn texture, etc. There is no one-size-fits-all solution.
As a licensed esthetician, I believe aftercare should be simple, effective, and intentional. I don’t believe in overloading your skin with unnecessary products or complicated routines. Instead, I offer a small, curated selection of professional-grade products that are safe for even the most sensitive, reactive, and hard-to-treat skin.
Every product I carry is esthetician-approved, treatment-room tested, and something I confidently recommend because I’ve seen real results — both personally and with my clients.
The products available in-studio cover everything you need: cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating, and maintaining healthy skin between appointments — without overwhelming you.
SKIN SCRIPT LIGHT ALOE MOISTURIZER — $22
A lightweight, cooling moisturizer that absorbs quickly while delivering hydration without feeling heavy or greasy. Perfect for normal, oily, or acne-prone skin types needing moisture without clogged pores. Ideal for post-wax care and daily use.
Yes — when used correctly. All products carried at Bare Beauty Lounge are intended for external use only.
When using products in the bikini area, they should be applied only to the external pubic skin and surrounding hair-bearing areas. Products should never be applied to internal or delicate mucosal areas.
Gentle cleansing and physical exfoliation may be appropriate for external skin when used carefully. Chemical exfoliants and treatment products must be limited strictly to external skin only.
If you’re unsure where or how to use a product, I’m always happy to guide you during your appointment to ensure safe, comfortable, and effective use. If you have specific medical concerns or ongoing conditions, please consult your gynecologist before introducing new products to the area.
Every person's skin is different. During your wax appointment, I assess your skin type, hair pattern, sensitivity level, and any concerns such as ingrowns, hyperpigmentation, or texture. Based on that evaluation, I’ll recommend a routine tailored specifically to you. My goal is always to keep your routine simple, targeted, and effective — not overwhelming.
Results vary from person to person. Some clients notice improvements in hydration and smoothness almost immediately, while concerns like ingrown hairs, congestion, or hyperpigmentation may take a few weeks to a few months of consistent use. Your timeline depends on your specific skin concern and how consistent you are with your routine. Consistency is key when it comes to long-term skin improvement.
All products are available in-studio. You can purchase them at the end of your appointment, or you can reach out to schedule a pickup time.
Physical exfoliation manually removes dead skin cells from the surface using a textured tool, such as an exfoliating mitt. It works on the outermost layer of skin and is helpful for lifting surface buildup.
Chemical exfoliation uses active ingredients like glycolic acid or salicylic acid to dissolve dead skin cells and oil within the pores. Instead of scrubbing the surface, it works beneath it to improve congestion, texture, and tone.
Both serve different purposes, and the right choice depends on your individual skin type and concerns. Over-exfoliating or combining methods improperly can compromise your skin barrier, so it’s important to use them thoughtfully and in moderation.
It often depends on the type of ingrown hairs you experience.
- Surface-level ingrowns usually appear as small bumps where hair is trapped just beneath a thin layer of dead skin. These often respond well to gentle physical exfoliation to lift surface buildup.
- Deeper ingrowns tend to be more inflamed, painful, or cystic. These are typically caused by congestion within the pore and may benefit more from chemical exfoliation to clear buildup internally.
During your wax appointment, I evaluate your skin and let you know what approach is best for you. The right method depends on your skin’s behavior, not just the presence of ingrowns.
Most clients benefit from exfoliating 2–3 times per week. Over-exfoliating can damage the skin barrier, leading to increased sensitivity, irritation, dryness, and even more ingrowns. More is not better. A consistent, balanced routine is far more effective than aggressive exfoliation.
Moisturizing should be done daily. Hydrated skin is more flexible and resilient, allowing hair to grow through the surface more easily. When skin is dry and tight, hair has a harder time breaking through, increasing the risk of ingrowns and irritation. Daily hydration is one of the most important steps in maintaining smooth results between wax appointments.
It depends on what you’re currently using. I’m always happy to review your existing routine and let you know what can safely be incorporated. The products carried in-studio are specifically chosen to be non-comedogenic, lightweight, and safe for waxed skin. Some over-the-counter products may be too heavy, pore-clogging, overly fragranced, or not ideal for post-wax care.
If you’re unsure, bring it up during your appointment and we can create a routine that works safely and effectively for you.
